About my project
Dwarf galaxies are the most abundant extra-galactic population in the local universe. These galaxies are said to be the building blocks of more massive galaxies. Using data from the Spitzer Space Telescope S4G survey and Palomar Double Spectragraph data, I am studying 14 low mass dwarf galaxies HII regions to determine why they have insufficient star formation. I will be reducing data using IRAF to study the spectra of these HII regions. This is important because knowing the environment of these galaxies will give a better understanding of galaxy evolution.
